Symonds in, Murali out, Kochi bowl

Kochi Tuskers Kerala are still searching for their first win of the season, and after two close defeats batting first, their captain Mahela Jayawardene chose to bowl against Mumbai Indians.

Kochi also strengthened their batting by bringing in the hard-hitting allrounder Thisara Perera in place of fast bowler Sreesanth. Another big call from Kochi was the decision to bench Muttiah Muralitharan and bring in Ramesh Powar for the offspinner's position. They was also a forced change as VVS Laxman injured his back moments before the toss, which forced Kochi to bring in Maharashtra batsman Kedar Jadhav.

It was the first game at the Wankhede since the memorable World Cup final, but even Sachin Tendulkar's presence wasn't enough to fill the stadium. The big news from the Mumbai camp was the much-awaited entry of Andrew Symonds, who will finally play alongside Harbhajan Singh.
